Broke my tie rod but nobody knows who the manufacturer is.
This is what I need
As you can see this not the standard Ford one.
It's a Chimaera 400 HC 1994 no ps.
Hope anybody can help.

+1

Wishbones and coil-overs don't use tie-rods. (MacPherson struts use tie-rods)

As JC said, you need a new steering-rack. Bell-Hill breakers or an engineering Co that will refurb??

You're quite right.

The part that unscrews may be a Ford part.

I have had a few P/S racks and the length of the rods has differed.

What length is the one you want, I may have one?

Ford used something similar to this in the 70,s/80s if i remember there should be a cup and small coil spring now weather this is sourced from a similar car i.e Ford Capri/Sierra either pas or non pas both used this system, chances are its a Ford sourced "Track rod arm/track rod" this is how we refer to it in the trade.

That's correct there is a spring and cup as you can see below.

The length of the arm is 31 cm (12.2 inch).
I realy hope you have one Mike, my surch is taking already a few months now.

My P/S arms are different.

I also have a complete none P/S rack that I am keeping in case I get fed up repairing the P/S ones!

You need to find a friendly spares shop that as a catalogue of steering components as these were available as a spare part on most manafacturers cars,i would be def looking at Ford as the doner car ie escort/capri etc,i dont see this kind of part as bespoke even if the main rack & pinion is.

Sorry if this isn't helpful, but surely this part looks just like the item pictured in the original post?

http://www.thetvrshop.com/TVR/Parts_details/TVR%20...

The link should also include further links to track rod ends.

Better prices on some parts may be found here;

http://www.clever-trevor.net

Just re-read your last post Roel.
This link looks like the correct length track rod ( I know it say Sagaris, but it also says they are "essentially the same").
http://www.thetvrshop.com/TVR/Parts_details/TVR%20...

Call them and discuss it. If the parts man doesn't know if a part is correct, his service manager should be able to find out for you.

Good evening Chaps,
Here's a post bump and a half!
I'm looking for the exact same inner track rods as Roel60.
Does anyone have a clue where to source?
They are not listed with TVR parts or Racetech.
Any help appreciated!
Cheers
Gerry
