Origin B2 Detector

Just got one on ebay. Works a treat, but - there's no really convenient place to put it that (a) isn't obscured by the steering wheel, (b) doesn't look naff sat on the top of the dash, or (c) isn't too far away for my failing eyesight.
Any suggestions?
Also being a relatively tidy person having the power plug stuck in the door cigarette lighter socket is starting to annoy me. Any advice on where to take a plumbed-in power feed unobtrusively from? (without dismantling half of the dash).

Unfortunately there are no obvious places for fitment.

Whoops, something to add to the page.

The power requirements of the B2 are negligable. I used the feed to the drivers cig lighter and included a 0.5amp in line fuse. Any ignition ON live supply will suffice.

If unsure run a live feed back to the battery. Just ensure its fused (1A max).

I would like to mention the specific cable but Chimaera wiring is variable.

Bit late, but I fitted mine in a similar place, but tucked right down in the 'valley' below the windscreen, dead centre left to right. I poked the wire through the gap and caught it from below by removing the glove pocket thingy.

The Laser detector I poked round the edge of the windcreen and it emerges by the rear view mirror, I pulled the rubber seal away from the door pillar bit to hide it.

The GPS (and this really surprised me) workes well in the boot and I have wedged it in the middle above the fuel tank above my amp which is fitted there. It is right adjacent to the boot seal but it works very well and is out of site.

yep, i was surprised it worked. What I did was over a week or so just had a dollop of blue tak under it and moved it round the car till i got good reception. Dash was useless, the cubby hole was good between the seats at the back.

The back shelf was good, but then i thought i'd try the boot and just ran it across the body work to start with and put it in the 'gutter' by the petrol filler and it worked fine.

Then i thought about rain and how stupid it was just there with all the petrol filling etc so just tried it in the boot and it seems to work fine. it is right at the top in the middle so it must just be able to see through the glass fibre. Signal strength isn't very high but it gets lots of sats everytime, whereas elsewhere signal was strong but it was blocked by the roof of the car.

Trial and error is the watchword i think.
