Nooooooooo... need bodyshop
Discussion
I managed to do the classic numpty drive into the back of someone at a roundabout trick this morning. Luckily it was at about 0.1mph but unluckily he had a towbar which neatly punched through the GRP just below the left headlight. No visible damage under the bonnet which is good, and the car drives fine. No damage to his car as far as I could tell.
Anyway, I wanna get some body repair quotes to see if its worth getting my insurance company involved. I've emailed some photos to tvrbodyshop already, can anyone recommend some other good places that won't give outrageous quotes?

Bad luck..
Sadly, I wuld imagine this will cost several hundred pounds to get done properly.. the labour to repair and appropriately profile the hole will be a fair few hours, and the paintjob will doubtless be £3-500 if it needs blending down the wings and the bonnet needs doing to match.
Cheers

Make sure your sprayer has experience with GRP. It is a different technique to spraying onto metal, I'm told.
Yeah, he's pretty sh!t hot & talked about giving the front end a blow over before to get rid of stone chips. About 40 years experience with cars, planes, and all sorts of crazy things. He did the Thrust2 landspeed record car (that gold one).. tho i don't think that was GRP!

Seriously dude, get Si to pack it full of weed then smear over with cuerton Dulux - sorted.
he'd probably fill it with 'weed-mache' or something or a nice fish decoration thing. Dave wants to shoot the car!

I managed to do the same, Big Treacle.
Tom Horsburgh is based south of Guildford, did a first class job on mine and is very reasonable. He's a GRP craftsman, and seems to specialise in TVRs and Lotuses. When I went to pick mine up, he had a lovely Ferrari 355 in there for some attention.

Turns out my sprayer friend can also do GRP so he's gonna attempt to fix my car for the price of paint which is a LOT cheaper than bodyshop quotes/insurance excess + premium hike. Of course, if it looks crap then the car will go to the plastic surgery hospital.
By the way, see my profile to for a reminder of why you should keep your cars far from towbars!!
