Hi all,

I need to replace my fuel pump due to the whine coming from it.
I have located two possibles.

One BOSCH one from Racetech Direct
http://www.racetechdirect.co.uk/tvr-car-parts-deta...

or this one that is half the price from Online Automotive ?http://www.onlineautomotive.co.uk/TVR_Chimaera_Fuel%20Pumps.aspx

Would anyone mind taking a quick look, and telling me what the difference is, and whether I need to spend the extra cash?

Thanks loads,
Dave

If you can get the actual bosch part no for the pump, you can shop about on the internet.Check the alternative parts list on the "chimaera pages".

Sadly the TVR Chimaera Pages - Parts List is not available, and hasn't been for several days (that I know of).

You can get the cached version via Google, or my direct extract below;
(I have no idea myself, I am just posting what the site says/said)

Fuel pump & injection relays; Bosch 0732014112 or Land Rover part AFU2913L.

Fuel pump relays; Euro car parts 450110050 or BMW Part 12631729

I guess it depends if you want the 'branded' Bosch and the implied reliability that comes with it or whether an aftermarket will do.

Fuel pumps are relatively simple things but if it fails you will be stranded no matter who makes it! In theory a Bosch one would outlast a third party one but I guess you get what you pay for.
Performance wise, unless you are running some sort of fuel gobbling blown / turbo monster, the TVR uses a standard non-race style one.

Personally - I got mine from here. It's third party but works great and reasonable price too

Thanks all for your help. I've been advised to listen to the pump noise in other Chims first before investing in a replacement, but am suitably reassured that I won't break the bank if I do make the change.

I purchased 2 of these & they were hopeless - avoid at all costs IMO very poor quality both professionally fitted, both failed. I would also recommend getting one with screws for wire connectors and not spade connectors which can pull off or loosen when fitted lowdown.
