Ok I give up.

About six months ago I changed the exhaust gaskets on the drivers side. It was a pain in the arse, because the starter motor and the alternator had to come out. Then I got it wrong and had to do it again. (it was easier the second time)

So when the near side exhaust started blowing I thought at least it will be easier than the driver side.

Nope.

The whole exhaust has to come off. And as I don't have a four post lift in my garage so I am going to have to pay someone else to do it.

And I don't want to take to the main dealer I used to use as I lost confidence in them. They used to really look after me but after my last visit I'm not so sure. So the old girl is probably going to a local garage that I know does good work but it is a TVR after all.....

Head hanging in defeat

Hey spongy, not heard of them before. I just googled restoration ramps and found some. They are brilliant.

Could have done with them for the fuel hose replacements. That was hard lying on the floor with it on axle stands ! They're not cheap though. Almost a similar price to a second hand 4-post lift. Very clever design though. Have you got some. I love the guy that has bought some to get his Tuscan higher up in the garage due to flooding !

I did mine 4 weeks ago to be honest it's not so hard if you have a pitted garage or ramps bit I found it unbelievably easy to drop the exhaust once you have done it it's a doddle the swear box hardly came out and if everyone was local I'd show them/ help show how it's done if anyone is in the midlands area wants it done let me know

I can recommend a Hampshire based independent, but TVR specialist, that charged me considerably less than any 'main dealer' had quoted.
His work was good and it lasted.

It is possible to do all of the bolts on the passenger side from the top

you need about 6 different length spanners to get access

I think i removed the Y piece but not sure if you have to

Patience is the key one bolt may take a few hours

Good luck smile
