First, can I just say what a great forum you have here.
I am looking to buy a 2nd hand chimaera in the near futre, proberbly a 400/450 and approx a 98 model. In my current car I have a full Blaupunkt DAB52 audio setup which I would like to transfer to the TVR. The question is what to do with the DAB aerial, Should I go for a glass mount that secures to the screen or something else?
How many speakers does the chimaera have?
I am also looking for advice on what to check and lookout for when buying, but I see a lot of threads on here already. I guess the best way is to talk to various owners, are their any meets or the like coming up in the SE. You can send the meet info via pm.

hi manny
chim has 4 speakers
if you can get the tvr car club "sprint" magazine, the inside back page lists all the regular meets with contacts for the organisers, and the latest issue has an big article about the chim.
yes the sensible thing is to see / ride / drive as many as possible before deciding
so natrually, 2 yrs ago, I just bought the first one I saw!!!
Good luck and have fun searching, dean

Standard Chimaera has only two speakers - but you'll find that many cars have been converted to four by mounting speakers (usually 6x9s) in the rear vents for the petrol tank.
Nothing wrong with moving heads/changers across, just be warned it's not a simple job, and remember to well grease and seal all the pass-through points for cabling, else they'll let in water!
