misfire no talkie talkie from Griffs maybe should get a chim

Came home forst day out with car ran like a dream. 2nd day had a massive air leak Torque V8 72mm plenum inlet sleeve came un bonded and blew out, temporarily jammed in so i could get home. rebonded sleeve cleaned off all soot from rear of car and went for a run now have a misfire predominatly below 3k then clears. As i was running car ultra rich for around 15miles to get me home could i have created an issue with the lambda sensors etc.
First i will pull plugs etc and check leads but as it appears to clear at higher revs i feel its probably damaged lambda sensor as if it was plug or leads would be evident all through rev range any guidance welcome
cheers by way car is supercharged. I have checked for air leaks all is okay and at idle pulling a good vacuum on the plenum

Are you talking about the Torque flow AFM as part of the plenum set up?
No i previously had the Torque flow system on for what good it did, was told at the time that the AFM was good for the SC howver that turned out to be bull.So referring to the 72mm throttle mods that comes with the Torque flow unit. The Plenum inlet tube is just a sleeve bonded into plenum throttle housing, bonded with Araldite Metal epoxy, this came away and that led to initial breakdown.
Like Spends idea of unplugging the ECU and starting again , didn,t know that the ECU had facility to store and adjust itself accordingly .
Anyway well thanks for the responses on Saturday going to have a look and check things out.
Idling is good.
misfire predominatly between idle and 3k so feelings are should check lambda sensors. I do not have a code reader so aqny tips on checking lamda sensors would help
Cheers to all Chimpies.

Sure you still don't have an air leak Jim? I would also disconnect the ecu/battery to reset the ECU ~ it might have 'learnt' a load of rubbish that takes some unlearning.
It's not a new SC install BTW Rob.
Well i,ll double check when on boost with some soap and water but reckon no air leak evident. It's not a new SC install BTW Rob.
I,ll be off to my mates garage on Saturday as neighbours are a bit sensitive to V8 symphonies. that way should be able to get it on boost without upsetting all and sunder
I,ll reboot the ECU and thanks for the tips i,ll keep all posted.
cheers

Sorry is this the frist time you have drove it with the supercharger fitted or other mods?, it sounds like a fuelling issue, from 3000 rpm the lambdas cut off. so could be running to lean.
Thanks Rob have the Sc for 2 years now yes agree with your assessment so looking for air leaks and check lambdas etc also will reboot ECUThe ECU is only moderately smart, but it can drop into fault mode that changes to a limp home fuel map, and this would be completely wrong for a SC set up. A reset will clear the fault code, but as for leaning, the ECU will simply re trim the fuel mixture when its wrong within 25 or so seconds from cold , and continues to do so as the engine conditions change. Its nothing like as smart the later Lucas Sagem system that can really learn from feedback from the lambda probes over various driving conditions. If you ECU has been reprogrammed by Mark Adams I would expect the MIL light to be working (if connected by TVR) that would flag up a fault condition.

cheers Mark rebooted for want of a better phrase the ECU car slowly dvelops a misfire as it gets warmer and driving unsder load so maybe a plug anyway went for a road test climbing out of a sharp left hander behind some push bikes, then dropped into 2nd gear as climbing up hill double white lines, soon as got the clear booted it and lost transmission looks like my diff has gone as no transmission, Jacket car up on one wheel clear and input drive is there but no out put, unless sheared a drive shaft . Are the drive shafts splined if so probably sheared one at the spline machined kneck . as prior to this Diff was quite and has only done 2k since john Reid rebuild.cheers

Bl~~dy H@ll... not having a lot of luck James.... yes, the drive shafts are splined... hope thats all it is...
say that again anyway car still looks the dream sitting in the garage i,ll get it up in the air tomorrow and determine which if any shaft has sheared. If so any pointers on where i can get new ones or upgraded John are you back home as i,ll be off again next week TVR Beaver said:
yes.. back for now... there were upgraded ones at one time... best asking ACT or SH they will know where they came from... where you off next then?.. SP?....
I'm jusy considering pulling the engine for a full re-furb?... something to play with this winter
look John if your that stuck get over here and sort my Chassis out needs to be painted etc. Well off next week to Mexico, tomorrow i,ll jack up the car put her on axle stands and see wre the transmission has failed/I'm jusy considering pulling the engine for a full re-furb?... something to play with this winter

take care are you doing the refurb or sending down to Rob at V8 developments,
cheers j
