I had a top job but the heat has caused problems with the power coating as I had all the grooves done in apple candy purple

I've been having the same thought for a while now as I want the engine bay to look a bit nicer.

These are in the classifieds:

The thread on Ralph12345's exhaust polishing also caught my eye as a winter project biggrin

They have been up for ages and I have been tempted tp make an offer a couple of times. Was actually thinking getting hold of a couple of second hand rockers and having a go myself

That seems very reasonable and looks good

When did you get it done and how is the finish holding up ?

I was sick and tired of cleaning them up after layup,i got a powder type residue on the rocker covers.

They are still in perfect condition ,its a bit of a job to take the plenum to pieces then rebuild plus the tps needs re setiing on the Megasquirt.

Badges were from Ebay and Borchycock..think thats his name laugh

What colour did you use, can't quite make out from the photo whether they are black, grey or something else?

The ones on my chim where just hand painted with Yellow hamirite and turned out not bad. The upside for powder coating is a nice finish Hand painting is only as good as who ever is preping and applying it.

I will be spraying my Cerbs one's my self very soon smile

Daz.. tell ya what... your 90 deg bend is very tight... so was mine... got one with a bigger rad in it and got another 3 BHP... you may want to try one!! also helped with shunting yes

No.. the smoother (bigger) the bend the better... think about it.. its trying to turn 90 deg instead of a nice radius to flow around.... your a plumber arn't you.. think of water in a pipe... where do you get the best flow (least turbulance)... in a pipe bent around 100mm bending jig.. or in one fitted with a soldered tight 90 deg bend?
.
Try it and see... I did wink

Well a copper elbow has the same frictional resistance as 600mm of straight run..A pulled bend 400mm.. Don`t think ACT would be selling the smooth flow elbow if it was to resistive..

Show me your elbow..

Soon as I get home I'll take you a pic... of both of them... Think it mentions it in the SH Bible also....
Tighter the bend.. the more turbulence and therefore resistance read

I'm with the Beaver on this one.
When I used my water analogy in the twin throttle thread, I didn't realise you were a plumber.
Water and air are so similar their motional (not emotional) state, that you can apply your clearly better than average knowledge of flow dynamics directly to the subject!

Have at it!

Just look at how ACT change the airflow direction to the throttle from the AFM/duct with their mult--throttle solutions.. Bend has gone if you put your brain into gear - assuming gains are just from bigger throttle openings is blinkered at least!

Piecemeal clip-in upgrades are obviously a different kettle of fish.

So has anyone been on the dyno with a short and long radius bend?

I think its a wind up! have ACT recently changed the smooth bore elbow..

Here ya go... Its like this one... I tried a few but the bigger the rad the better...
This one is 45mm rad so with 7mm wall, 52mm on the inside...
.

whats your about 15mm laugh much turbulance and lost power!!

Where did you get that one from ? i thought each end has two different diameters..Whats the diameter each end ..looks like with the new injectors and the bend im looking at a 350hp motor laugh

I did run 12.5 on the 1/4 mile second attempt before the clutch decided to let me down...
