I have read the other speedo post, but my problem is different. on starting the car earlier the revs were recording around 1000rpm, and the speedo was recording not 0mph but 120mph. On blipping the trottle it settled down. Is it an electrical problem or sensor? Thanks Guys

Sounds like its time for some silly photos to me.
How about speedo showing 120 MPH with someone gripping on to the bonnet

Perhaps the speedo cable is just a but sticky? Perhaps some spray grease will help.

The speedo is electronic...

(And, in this case, broken.)
