Screen for a 1999 BMW740 was over £800 I was told. Ins company did not bat an eyelid, as long as their approved company was used.
P.s. The Chim has a nicer shaped windscreen!
To be fair, my insurers have always been very good on any claims issues.P.s. The Chim has a nicer shaped windscreen!
Good to hear that the amount isn't unusual then. Shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks
I had to get my windscreen replaced recently and had Autoglass do this through my insurance.
I had also heard horror stories about getting the work done and so mentioned this to the Autoglass person on the phone and they sorted it for me to get the guy who trains their fitters to do the work. He is based out of Croydon, but did the work at Kingston for me.
Generally I think they did a pretty good job, though it took nearly 2 weeks for the appointment if I recall. There were a few scuffs in the "leather" at the top where it meats the screen that are visible now, but there was a note on the worksheet to say that this was there previously and had been covered up by the old screen....so it wasn't them.
Hope this helps
