Glass flbre oil filter.
Discussion
I'm on my second one.
They are a tight on the front cross member tubing, but they do fit.
Once you get it square on the thread and wind it on a few turns there are no clearance issues.
No idea if it performs better but the theory seems good and for only a few extra quid over a paper element filter I figure it may be worth it in the long term.
If nothing else the extra size gives you a bit more oil in the system & perhaps a slightly better oil cooling effect.

It sounds good.. but I wonder what actual testing’s been done on it.. over X number of hours.. against a bench mark engine running on a standard filter??....
One thing that does spring to mind.. is how well the filter element is constructed in the first place?… Could there be any loose particles / dust in there that will go into your engine… after all, it’s glass… and could that damage the engine more than paper particles??...
Just a thought??

Probably better to research via Cummins Filtration or Fleetguard Filters. One thing that does spring to mind.. is how well the filter element is constructed in the first place?… Could there be any loose particles / dust in there that will go into your engine… after all, it’s glass… and could that damage the engine more than paper particles??...

Fram + others also use similar/same technology, I don't think it is anything especially new or exotic.
The fact that Cummins (diesel engines) and Fram make these would seem to indicate that they work.

Indeed... if Fram use it already... thats probably what I have fitted Fram + others also use similar/same technology, I don't think it is anything especially new or exotic.

Just thought it was something new???....Obviously not
....Just get a Fram then??

They may still do the 'cheap ones' too! AFAIK

The original link posted was to a very small vendor it seemed.
Providing names for actual manufacturers was just some guidance

I stand corrected however, it seems it is fairly new if the comparison / review I just found is somehting to go by, as they say the Fram filter used paper in 2008.
If I know 'the owner formerly known as Chimpafrolics', he will have given it a few googles before making his decision to use one the first time.
That said, he didn't choose Fram soooooo.
You may want to do a little more general research to feel safe in your ultimate choice.
The ones phillpot referenced at Here are apparently made by Fleetguard who is owned(?) by Cummins.
