rocker cover!!

Need to take the driver's side rocker cover of to fit a new gasket, my problem is the aircon pipe work above the cover.
Guess I need enough room to miss the rocker's but the aircon pipe work looks solid.
Do I have to get the pipe work out of the way and get it regassed?
If so were should I make the split?
Need help as hoping to do the work this weekend.
