Getting close to sticking the body back on the chassis.

now the body came off quite easily as the engine was already out. just debating now if I should put the engine back in the chassis first, as that makes that job a lot easier.

Do you have to leave the manifolds off if I do that? or can you get the body on with them on the engine, as i bet its a pita to put the manifolds on when the body is on.

cheers

The body will not pass the manifolds, i still put my engine in chassis before i put the body on.

how does the pita of putting the manifolds on after compare to the ease of getting the engine in before

I put my engine back in before the body went back on. Lets face it, if you have done a body off, putting the manifolds on after the body is fitted shouldnt be too taxing.

thumbup This. Just the engine and box. Everything else can be fitted once the body is back on. Leave the starter motor off, it gives you better access from below for some of those "wonderful" manifold bolts.

Yep. Me too. As said before its a slightly easyer job using ARP bolts.

It's far far easier if you slot the bottom of the manifolds & drop them on to studs (with nuts already 95% done up + gaskets held in place).

What a useful thread!

The starter off and slotted lower manifold holes.....Brilliant!
