To Hot to Handle

Is it just mine or do they all do it?

The heater always blows hot air even when its on cold. If you move it to hot it just gets unbearable.

Nope, when mine is on cold the air IS cold!

He is right you know. Big Al has a cool Chim and I have a hot Griff.

I have found that on a long motorway run it blows cold though so I now know its down to heat soak.

I large amount of my threads in the Griff forum recently (in the last 6 weeks or so) have been on this topic.

Possible fixes are;
1. Increase or fix engine bay insulation.
2. Fit a 2 speed fan kit to keep air flow moving through engine.
3. Insulate (wrap) manifolds.

Preferrably I'll be doing the work in that order too.

Otherwise I have found the best way to leave the vents is all closed with the windscreen selected for the air flow path.

I have done approximately this - override to the fans and lower switch on, exhaust wrap and improve insulation.... now it just takes longer to get hot air through, but its still hot in the end.

Its better, but I am afraid that there isnt much else to do. There is a driver side cold air fan and a vent lower down which lets in external air. Doesnt necessarily help if the air is hot outside, but can at least help. What I need is one of those Merc seats though - the ones with vents and aircon.... now thats a good idea!!!
