Just spent the last 3 hours desperately trying to get my reverse light operating consistently.
Few questions, the switch does seem to work (simple continuity check) although only has maybe 3-4mm of travel is this normal?
And how on earth do you adjust it correctly?,I just seem to have the light permanently on or or permanently off!

LT box btw.

I got a new switch for mine after it siezed solid and had to be replaced (it was not working when I bought the car).

A bh to adjust and you really need a 'mate' (or a wife that can engage the reverse gear) and another mate / wife(?) to tell you the light is on. IIRC, the 'switch' had about 6mm to 8mm of of 'movement' / 'depression'....

Hope this helps

Ok, thanks for the advice, maybe I will have to get the girlfriend to help out.
6 - 8mm you say.....sure mines more like 3-4, maybe its partially seized.

New switch is now ordered and I have another Christmas job lined up.

Thanks for the advice.

6-8mm of 'movement' is what I remember - BUT, it will be less for 'activation', if you follow me?

Good luck!

The switch is on the nearside of the gearbox toward the rear,
Its a bugger to reach, you really need 3 hands to replace the thing.
