Driving back from London tonight and lost it 3 times! First time was in the little tunnel on the A40...I knew it was cold but didn't think it would be icy inside the tunnel, so dropped it into 2nd and gave it some beans. Before I knew it I was in a mini tank-slapper situation. The next time was on purpose. No cars about, going round a roundabout and thought I'd get the back end out, which was a little bit too easy. The last episode I was being very very cautious, driving about 20mph, and completely lost all traction ending up on the other side of the road. So be careful out there chaps!

Indeed very slippy be careful, been driving around in the Volvo recently...... Trying to put well north of 300bhp down through the front wheels is amusing / pointless trying. Had wheel spin in 4th at 70mph this evening !

I used Good year ultra grip Performance i had a set sitting around i had from my old subaru and flung them on they only had 3-4 mm left on them so i ran the car for that winter but never did again. I never bought winter tyres after that for the chim. I would not run a RWD car up here through the winter with out them tbh. I really should have a set for our mini but it seemed really good in the snow so far on normal run flats you can let a good few psi out the tyres and not risk wrecking them.

Do you ever imagine it Daz? That extra.5HP make all the difference. If you want a proper powerful car mate you'll need to swap these Chimaera's in eh Scotty?

Its not the HP Daz rolleyes its the fact you have to much tyre on the road and not enough weight to keep it in contact with the surface frown HP is controlled with your right foot so if that as a bearing on your traction problem then your driving like a tt anyway hehe in poor conditions you need a car with low down grunt and pram wheels scratchchin ever driven the original Mini in the snow/ice? simply unstoppable even though I hate the little buggers laugh
