Key fob battery.
Discussion
Can't unlock the car tonight.
Noticed the battery seemed to have been getting weaker in the last week or so.
First question, is it correct that if I change the battery then I need to stand by the car holding it depressed and it will reset.
Second the fob is in relatively poor condition. Can I get a second one from Carl, and what info will he need ?
Thanks,
Tony

I just swapped the batteries (2 stacked) and it continued working. i.e. I didn't do anything special (except grumble over the absurd price of the things).
Carl did tell me about changing fobs, but I forget now. Sorry, it was a long time ago and I never needed to do it, it was an information only kind of thing.
I think that it would require changing or 'reprogramming' the sensor in the car as well.
Good luck with it.

I had the battery go down on my fob a couple of years ago, I replaced the battery but it failed to come back to life.
Although I had access to a second fob which got me out of the immediate problem I wasn't prepared to continue like this.
I figured sooner or later my one remaining working fob would give up too & I would be in real trouble.
So I contacted Carl, who fortunately was seeing to a Griff alarm near by.
Carl removed the dash top to access the alarm unit, paired the unit with two new fobs and provided me with a red plastic code card that will help any Meta dealer supply new fobs if required in the future.
The two new fobs supplied by Carl are a much more robust design than the originals, two years on they continue to work perfectly & having the red code code card gives me complete peace of mind.
I recommend a call to Carl, worked for me
