S**T!! It seems that I have lost my key today and (yes I have looked everywhere) am wondering what my options are now.

1, I had only one alarm fob+key and stupidly hadn't got around to getting spares/replacements made.
2, I have my car in bits right now as a full restoration is in progress. I can see the alarm thing under the dash and thus removal thereof is not difficult.
3, I have already disconnected the immobiliser as the damn thing had a mind of its own.
4, I have all original documentation including 16 digit META alarm code and plastic ignition key number bit in my original log book.

Can I get replacement alarm fobs made anywhere as I have the 16 digit code?
Can anyone cut me new keys with the use of this 5 digit key number?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Any tips on how to get the steering lock off without keys???... as I can then at least trailer it to the paint-shop appointment.

Many thanks in advance.

Carl is the man for anything alarm/lock related, but not sure how much it might cost for a trip to Germany eek
But Carl is always happy to give some advice over the phone, and possibly via email...

It is also worth noting in case no one has told you; it is just a plain old Vauxhall steering column.

Yeah, I thought that Id swap out the cylinder simply for 15 something euros (any ideas how to remove the cylinder??) as that'll allow me to keep the paint appointment at least...but that still leaves me with an inability to actually lock the chimp come summer.

I'll give him a call but to date all I have read is that 1 working fob is always necessary to get new ones (??) unless I understand something incorrectly, that will still leave me in some sort of a dirty creek.

Cheers for the advice so far.

PS:- I'm in the UK again next month so maybe he can simply work wonders with the Alarm box??? we'll see.

I don't think there is anything Carl couldn't fix when it comes to alarm / locking / hot start issues.

As far as I know, from reading other threads, he can give you new fobs fairly easily from the existing unit (in the dash).
There was something very recent here regarding this.

For Ignition switch etc
