Clutch pedal play

Bled the clutch several times and its still the same. The pedal goes down about 1 inch before I can feel the resistance of the clutch. Is that what others have. Done a body off referb so not driven the car for 4 years.

There is some free play at the top of the pedal between pedal and pushrod etc but an inch seems a bit much. Are you sure you have bled properly as they can be buggers to get all the air out.

If you press the pedal by hand you can feel the free play between the linkages etc and then feel when you should be compressing fluid. If the free play is when it should be compressing fluid, a bit more bleeding needed.
