So i'm changing my rear tyres on stnd Estorils from Bridgstones to Toyo's.

The o/e fit for 500 with p/s was 235/50/16 - so the question is the prevailing choice is for 245/45/16, however, I am concerned about changes to both the ride and rolling offset to the mileometer & speedo calibration.

Is there much difference ?

The 245/45/16 means that for the same engine revs that used to give you 70 mph with the 235/50/16 you will now be doing 68.29 mph. So a bit slower. So when your speedo says 70 you are actually driving 1.71 mph slower.

I though 245/45/16 were standard for the 500s ?

Thats what i run on mine. Toyo T1Rs.
My speedo reads about 3-4 mph over compared to a satnav all the way from 20mph up to xxxmph.

The sppedo seems to show about 2mpg faster that you are actually going so with the 245`s your speedo will be more accurate..

I'm running 24psi front 26 rear. Iv'e tried a few psi higher and lower and this seemed to be the best set up on the Toyos.

I totally agree with V8RNG:

245/45/16 is the standard size and running 24 PSI at th3 front and 26 at the rear seams to be the best set up on the Toyos TR1...

You will notice when changing from Goodyear to Toyo's that you get more grip, specially in the wet, well, this is what I think!
