**Car pulling slightly to left- any ideas**

My car is pulling slightly to the left when driving...I have already sorted the following.
The car is drifting slightly to the left when you take hands off steering wheel.

- Track and geometry are all spot on
- Two new front shock absorbers

It is still happening..Could it be that the bushes need replacing?

Any ideas please

Tyre pressures, corner weights (if they are far enough out), worn bush somewhere?

Tyre pressures are spot on...my thoughts are a worn bush...

What do yo mean by corner weights? Also how much would it be to get the suspension re-bushed..?

When you had the suspension geometry checked was it way off? If you were driving like this, then the tyres will be worn oddly, the worn tyres might be your problem. Try putting fronts on rear and rear on fronts, but keep tyres on the same side of car.

It only started about a week ago, and the geometry was spot on..

This is what is so baffling...

What is the timing of all this? I mean, what things were changed shortly before the problem started, and which things have you checked afterwards?

Nothing was changed, the only thing I can think of was a suspension thunk about a week before, this happened at the back of the car and a few days later I noticed it was pullng slightly to the left. Checked the tyre pressures and they were spot on (as I check everything on the car once a week as it is used almost every day). I then took it to Fernies and they said rightly so that the passenger side front shocker was a bit limp and they then replaced this with a shocker they had lying around that had about 15,000 miles on it. This seemed to improve it slightly however in a couple of days it was pulling left again...

They checked the geometry and said this was spot on and the only other thing I can think of is the Bushes.

However I do not want to start replacing all the shockers and the bushes to find out £1,000 later that it still pulls to the left..

Already had this one aswell. It does not wash with me..I am well aware of road camber and its effect on cars. I have had 2 Prodrive Impreza, three TVRS and a Clio Williams and this does not feel right at all...

What about a slightly binding brake. Can be diagnosed by one disk hotter than the other. Careful not to burn your fingers!! Feel the wheels first.

No Fernies checked this aswell..the brakes are okay.

Think you've answered your own question - BUSHES. The cost of inspection each bush to determine which is "worn", you may as well get all the bushes changed for Poly's.

You can keep the same springs & shockers until you want/need replace them!! You'll then see what you've beeen missing in control & handling!!

You need to budget for £300/400 -ish for bush work. Pennisula did mine plus Avos last Nov - just completed first Track Day with them - wooosh, not many could hold a candle to my corner speed (we'll not go near straight-line capabilities of 400 versus 500 either!!!)

Shop around, it's the most significant change from the "soft" soggy standard bush to poly. Bit of a pig for DIY tho', even for me !! So I'd recommend the upgrade thro a Dealer/Specialist (like Pennisula for example - really good eggs!!)
