....to make the boot apeture wide enough to fit the roof panel in with more than 0.0000000001mm clearance.
(Not sure if the same applies to Chim owners though).
The roof panel fits in the Tamoras very well. Wish they did that in Griffs so I didnt have to empty the contents of the boot in to a puddle to get the roof out!

Finally, after the last 5 years of looking, another company is going to make a 2 piece roof for a griffith.
Tried the prototype at Pistonfest, and fitted into the boot like a dream, may even be boot into the boot flat, if they design some sort of bracket (a la tuscan roof)

I believe their stand was strip-side of the beer tent on Saturday but it was empty (well, it looked it from a distance). Didnt see it there on Sunday though but perhaps I just happened to miss it. Probably would have bought something if I'd seen it so at least they saved me some money!
They were down the end with Silverstone TVR and the Saggyarse when we looking yesterday. The 2 piece roof looked interesting and so 'why didnt someone do this years ago'. Not sure about drainage or any water caught between the 2 sections (I didn't read the blurb sellotaped to the roof though - maybe someone else did).

must be a bugger on a dry day, driving miles to find a puddle just so you can change the roof
Not a TVR one - But I spent 4 hours trying to remove the starter motor on a 1986 cavalier 1.8 auto.
I gave up and paid someone 20 quid to do it.
Funny thing was they have a policy of returning the old part, and when I looked at the old starter they had smashed the casting where the bolt goes. Wonder why?
The new starter is still attached 4 months on but I can't be bothered to look and see if they fitted both bolts, or just used one.
Incidently design for maintainability was the subject of my mates 3 year phd at coventry uni in the early 90's.
He developed the patented pertang factor. A score you give to the item that goes pertang. shit what was that where did it go is it important

Even more of a bugger when leaving PH yesterday. A sudden change in the weather was too good not to have the roof down so emptied the whole boot on to the grass, put the roof panel in and then as much of the contents as possible. The rest went on the passenger seat.
One hour later on the A34 and the blue sky has gone and the emptying rain clouds can be seen up ahead.
Road surface already soaked hence the very wet layby I had to use to put it back on again.
Yeah yeah, I know you can drive in the rain with the roof down. I did it in a torrential down pour on the way up there and for 3 hours on the way to LM. But feeling completly fecked (PistonFecked to be precise!) I wanted that little bit of dry luxury before I got home. It was a good decision too since 1 mile on and the traffic was at a standstill while the rain was doing the NSL downwards.

... there is no need to hide the headlight bulb through a hatch behind a wheel bolted on with locking nuts... no-one is that desperate to steal part used headlight bulbs
Someone did do them years ago - there used to be pics on Tower View's webite IIRC. Not sure if they still do them, or if the ever sold any.
