Non Start - sort of !

Went to start today after 2 week lay up, fuel pump not really making usual noise but all lights gauges ok, turn to start and nothin ! no clicks , nothing. Tried resetting/unsetting alarm with same result,,,, six goes and about to give up, last try and boom she starts, running fine. Went for a 30mile run and all is fine, back in garage switch off try again and starts ok, although fuel pump making usual noise prior to starting now. What should I be looking at here ? fuel pump/ 100 amp fuse....Help please as she has not done anything like this before.

I had very similar problem with the Griff. Got the starter motor reconditioned and that sorted it.

Most other starting issues reported on here seem to involve the immobiliser though; I'd had my alarm/immobiliser replaced prior to the issue so could rule that out quickly.

Thanks for the help and comments, I think the worrying thing is it went from doing nothing to suddenly starting,, will check battery terminals together and connections to fuel pump.

Anything else I should check ??

If its not the connections to the battery or the fuel pump, I agree that it certainly does sound like the immobiliser. Have you tried the "Passenger side dashboard slap" trick?!? Check its out of gear, turn the key and slap the dash top. Sometimes this is enough to free something sticking in the immobiliser. Not a permanent cure I'm afraid, but it does high light a potential problem. Alternatively give Carl baker a shout.....

As a follw up, been to garage today to clean terminals and check connections but tried to start first to check if situation was same.........what do you know,, fired up straight away running fine....
Is she trying to tell me that she doesnt like being left unused ?? Now were into mind games, will she or wont she and if she starts will she start if I stop for petrol or leave me looking stupid at the petrol station.
Due a service in March, will be asking for a number of items to be checeked.
