Hi All

I'm thinking of getting a total roof replacement. I always drive, and often leave it parked up, with the rear section folded down. I've noticed that the plastic suffers as a result as it folds in various directions and creates 'peaks', as well as the sticthing coming adrift. Has anyone gone for a rectangle screen? I wondered if this would allow the section to drop a little more too?

It's already been done, I am sure there was some pictures in here fairly recently of the same mod and it looked pretty good.

I suggest you do a search as I can't remember who posted it.

Thanks guys. I like the look and practical side of the roof mod. I'll have a chat with my local trimmer.

When I had my rear screen done the trimmer said he could fit a zip on 3 sides so the bottom was still attached and you could undo it and lay it on the shelf, I didn't go for it then but probably will next time.

looks alot better mate, had my roof re trimmed last year and then two weeks later is saw this picture .

Got to say the origanal setup is a very bad design..

It looks more classic and in keeping with the car.does the rear section sit lower ?

i had the same problem with my roof so fitted the hard top conversion. its well worth the money and totally changes the look of the car when its off.

I was wondering about going a lot smaller than even that window - there's very little of the window area that you actually see in the rear view mirror and it's of limited use when reversing or looking behind for lane changes so apart from letting light into the cabin area it's pretty useless. biggrin

The only worry is that if you go too small on the window area then you start looking a bit like an American hearse. frown

Got to say the car does look very good without the hood.

I like the look of the 'no roof' option, but not sure if it would drive me mad getting it on and off. I also now need to consider the size of the back window, and here's me thinking it would be simple. smile

How about having a hidden zip on the inside round the window inner layer just like the MX5 has it ...looks smart and you unzip the window and fold the roof down I cant see why TVR didn't think about this option so much neater
