Could somebody PM me and tell me where the alarm siren is located please?

Mine has never worked, and I've never bothered to do anything about it as the car normally lives in a locked garage and the immobiliser is fine. However I'm going touring in the Summer and it would be good to make it a bit more secure.

I understand from Steve heath's book that the alarm unit is built into the dashboard and the siren is usually in front of the radiator behind the grill.

Thanks. No siren in front of the rad in my case (97 facelift Chim). Maybe that's why it doesn't work ?!!!! Can't see any wiring there for it either though.

Any more takers?

Not quite in front of the rad.Look thru the grill opening on the front of the car, it should be on the right hand side of the radiator quite high up.

Early alarm sirens no longer available but carl baker is your man. He does a siren and the relevant wiring back to the alarm unit under the dash.

On mine (pre-facelift) the siren is in the front on the right low down. At least it was, Carl replaced it quite a few years ago, I guess he put the new one in the same place.

Not quite true. Bridgwater Electronics (Google them) can supply Foxguard units.

It may be that it has just been disconnected which i believe was fairly common as they used to be quite sensitive.
