I'm a year into my TVR ownership and have enjoyed every single minute (usually with a massive grin).
So far, apart from routine items (helped by the search facility here!), I've not had any major issues to think about (which is good because I'm not particularly mechanically minded!)
However its coming up to service time and I know that one of my rear dampers is leaking and will need replacing. I have two questions which I'd appreciate some thoughts on:
1) For general use (non track) will I really notice the difference between the lower end and upper end of the damper/spring set market and what recommendations do people have?
2) Any other jobs I should get done at the same time?
Thanks in advance.

I've got Gaz Gold Pro's on the Chimaera, and they are a big step up from the AVO's that were on there. On the Cerbera I've got Nitrons, they are a step up from the GGP's. My tip is to go with the best you can afford.
As for other things, while they are off I'd spend some time cleaning and protecting the bits of chassis/suspension that are tricky to reach when they are fitted.

Out of interest why do people seem to not like the AVO's? Are they that bad?
They are not bad, I had them on mine for probably 4 years, although the rears were refurbished just out of warranty. I see them as a direct replacement to the originals. It's just for not a lot more you can get much better - i.e GGP's for instance.Woah there - Racing Reds are actually discontinued. Nitron had about ten pairs left on the shelf when I bought mine a few months ago but I think they want to hang on to some of them for spares - they are no longer marketing them at all and I have no idea why they have left that old racing-reds page up as none of the "fitting centres" are fitting them any more either.
