Intermittent Heater Fan

Folks,

My heater fan has this annoying habit of going on and off; it will blow for while, then stop for a minute, then blow for a minute, etc.

I have already 'jumped' the connector that burns out on the control panel.

Anybody have any ideas? Do I need to source a new control box, or fan?

Mines always been the same. I find a swift bang to the top of the dash starts/stops it.
