Looked under the car today and noticed a little surface rust and flaking paint. My question is how long would it take a mechanic to remove the body so i can get at everything and clean , paint and waxoyl the chassis? or is it ok to just do what i can get at and waxoyl?

Tell me about it been under it for weeks now just prepping, I am lucky it is all still solid but had i left it longer it would be dust. At some time in it's life it had been caked in waxoyl so you see i am not a fan. Plus every time i work on the car i get covered in the stuff, Gadz lol.

Methinks? The powder coating was put on the chassis when rusty in the first place. Powder coating is hard and cracks with chassis/suspension flexing. In particular the outriggers. A good enamel (Humbrol) epoxy or zinc rich N. Sea oil rig paint will resist chassis flexing and not crack. Painted on after treating with anti rust converter fluid. Not convinced waxoil traps moisture. Many magazine immersion tests prove waxoil prevents rusting compared to exposed bare metal.
Outriggers are the worst affected. Many TVR specialists will repair and treat for approx £1200.
