Ive heard horror stories about wooden steering wheels. They can snap ,splinter in an accident causing death..

A wooden steering wheel could splinter and penetrate a driver's hand or chest and they do not have any grip.

But they do look nice ! and will be complimented with a pair of driving gloves before you get blisters..idea

I imagine most aftermarket wheels will be cast in aluminium/magnesium or pressed steel with a wooden cover, no ?
I know if you bought a recent jag or mercedese with a wooden wheel, the wood would be only a couple of mm thick

I had a motalita steering wheel in my chim and it was a big improvement on the original. Only thing is if your car is non power steering it does get very heavy to turn when in town

Here's a link to the item. There is a discussion somewhere on the forum regarding the safety of wooden steering wheels, you should be able to find it with the search facility if it's working

The Momo Fighter fits with the look of the TVR interior.

You don't need the horn button or the ring which secures it as the TVR one will fit with a tiny bit of shaving of the back tabs. You will also need a Momo boss for the vauxhall column.

And they aren't in the least bit slippy.

You can get a " personal " wooden wheel which is a straight swap. This is mine which also had a wooden insert to cover the allloy bits but looked a bit naff, prefer this look.
