I guess several of you may have added the clear lenses on your chimeara, I see I can buy them for £100, I have been told that these parts are land rover and ford? Anyone have links to the items?

The Side Repeaters are Ford (Fiesta Mk3 Era - 90's) easily enough to find on the bay.

Indicators are MOD Land Rover, and were also fitted to various other MOD Vehicles.

As said above, the side repeaters are Ford Fiesta mk3.

The fronts are from a NATO spec land rover or challenger tank i think.

I got mine from this place = www.marcusglenn.com (01406 364753) Clear lens = Lucas part no. - FV817224 (on lens).

And paying the few pence extra for 'chrome' orange bulbs is worth it so the new 'clear' indicators don't look like fried eggs. wink

They are usually to be found on eBay quite often, just look for the Land Rover part and it helps avoid the 'TVR Tax' wink

Hi

I just bought a set of clear front lenses from ebay and they were dirt cheap (£12.50 delivered IIRC)
They are a bit dented on the back (the metal housing) but the plastic lens is fine and that is the only bit you see.
My question is.... how do you get the old ones out?
My car is a pre facelift (no bar across the grill) and I can see no visible means of fixing.
My guess would no doubt involve a tube of Sikaflex but that's ok as I bought two new tubes of that form the Bay as well. Plenty cheap too (£7.00/tube delivered)

As usual the search is not working so any pointers would be great.

Many thanks (roll on spring!)wavey

Yeap, thats about right, pop the big central grill out and the origianls will be held in around the back with Sikaflex, peel that off and tap the old ones out, un screw the backs, bond in the new clear ones, screw the backs in and Bobs your Mothers brother. rotate

Thanks Raceboy

I'll have a go this weekend.
Nice pic by the way, is that Lupo lights?
I have just ordered a pair from a breaker (£40.00 +£9.50p&p)
I guess fitting is a bit more involved but they do look the business!

Definately!
Cheaper alternatives are available, often second hand. Search "the Bay" for the landrover parts mentioned earlier.

I am looking to do Lupo Headlights, clear front indicators and side repeaters for less than £100.00 all in. (all DIY obviously)
Just because it has a TVR badge on the bonnet people think we're all millionairs!
I love the challenge of running a car like this on a budget, but that's just me.
Forums like this are brilliant for advice.......
Good luck with your search. biggrin

You will struggle unless you are going s/h on the lupo lights - I searched round for a while and paid about £70 for a pair but the postage probably added £15 on top.

I have seen alot of these on fleabay, if your in the army or RAF you can get them for free through supply, they are "c" stores, means no questions asked when demanding them I believe?
I think some of the sellers are forces on fleabay.
