Windscreen sun strip
Discussion
I've got the horrible 'white' delamination/water ingress (I believe that's what it is) at the bottom of my screen on the left and right hand sides. Whilst it's not a hugely large area it does look unsightly. I have been thinking about what to do about this in order to conceal it, and it occurred to me that perhaps a plan black sun sun strip as applied by some to the top of the screen would, if suitably cut to shape and size, work well (if properly applied with no unsightly bubbles or creases)
Anyone tried this? Or have other suggestion? (other than removing screen rubber to inject black stuff or buying new screen)
Cheers,
Chili

I used some black vinyl (normally used for vehicle decals) which I fitted round both bottom corners of the front screen, it was relatively easy to trim with a sharp stanley knife following the rubber seal on the bottom edge and the natural black band within the screen for the upper edge. The finished look is great and unnoticeable to the untrained eye (and I have ocd where the TVR is concerned).
If I have any left in the garage I'll send you some.

Richard,
have you got any pics of yours ? Would be really interested to see what it looks like.
Thanks,
AJ

I had this problem with mine, it is a common fault.

Whats the problem with paying your windscreen excess and getting a new one on the insurance.
This. You won't be able to inject into the gap causing the delamination, and it'll just get worse. I was gutted when mine started to go, but after a while never thought much about it - luckily a massive crack appeared so got it replaced.

I have very little time with the car and a host of jobs I need to do on it. A good simple and quick cosmetic job is more time efficient for me at the moment. A new screen can wait a little longer, but thanks for the suggestion.biper said:
