Can you tell me if the Tuscan alloys are simple enough to put on my chim? Or will I have to buy some special spigot and have issues at high speeds?etc etc

Also most cost effective place to buy them?

Or are there some nicer alloys out there that sit nicely on a chim? Pics please

Thanks again

If you mean the Spiders then you will have to change the hubs for 5 stud ones.

Alternatively there's a thread on here somewhere for a group buy of 4-stud Spiders.

Bud, do you know how much new hubs would cost?

And if you change the hubs then you will need new disks and you may as well go for some 4 pots so the brakes don't look lost behind the wheels.

You start by noticing that the Chimaera wheels are held on with 4 studs whereas the Tuscan uses 5. This means Tuscan wheels will not fit unless you also change the hubs to 5 stud hubs. If you do this you will also need brake discs with 5 holes, not 4. If you're changing the hubs, wheels and discs you may as well swap the calipers for 4 pots to get better braking. And while you're at it you should swap the dampers for adjustable ones like Ohlins or Nitrons wink It's never simple hehe

The spiders also come in 2 sizes i have 18" ones on the Cerb now and they also come in 16" which i think is the better wheel for a Chim as it still rides well with a nice size side all.

spent 2 hours reading the 27 pages of chimaera wheels on PH last night!! i still believe the tuscan spiders looked great, but what a pain in the rear in regards to putting them on..

surely there must be a company out there that does 4 stud replica's of the tuscan alloys?? or not.....

I have to say though, perhaps frustratingly for you, I do think the 'Spiders', as they are known, suit the Chimaera perfectly. wink

RICHB, your so right ! they do look the nuts.. cant believe no one out there has put some replicas. I cant see myself going through the chore of changing the hubs, discs etc etc.. but i have seen the thread that you can order some for £677. so could be an option..

There 16 and 17" new four stud so a straight swop.. The 18s look good but cause handling problems ,tram lining ,harsh ride and crashing suspension.

There Team Dynamics pro race 1.2 Front 16" 4x108 ET (offset)25 J (rim width 7.5)

Rear 17" 4x108 ET (offset)35 J (rim width 8)

You can go 17" all round but found the 17" a bit harsh on the front so went to 16"
They are available in 17" front and 18" rear, its up to you

There very light weight ,very popular for track use
The only thing which lets them down is the writing on the rim, they are the same wheel a the SP12`s but no writing on the rim but double the price .Got mine from Demon Tweaks

Im thinking about buying the Spiders in my prefered size 16 and 17" but may go for rear 8.5j rim and fit
255/40/17 this will also correct my speedo..

they look really good. Im pretty tempted with the spiders too. not to sure what set up as yet!

i saw a set of wheels on flebay, they were

Stud Diameter: 108 Rim Width: 7J
Rim Manufacturer: TSW Rim Diameter: 17
Rim Structure: One Piece Number of Studs: 4
Tyre Width: 205

would this fit on the chim with ease?

I think you would find a 7J (7" rim width) too narrow for the rear tyres. You also need to know the offset before you commit to buying off eBay.
