Can anyone tell me if the Bosch 044 Fuel Injection Pump is the standard OE pump for these cars .

If it is the standard pump which is the next one up?

Mine is now making a horrible noise and has been getting slowly worse over time ..

044 is a full on motorsport pump that can support 500bhp. I doubt anyone on here would need the next step on from an 044. Isn't the standard pump just a Ford Escort one?

Daz if you fit a Cossie 044 you will need to uprate the wiring to the pump. I fitted one to mine they can support 600-700bhp.

Hi Neal, can you point me to where you got that info from as i have a 044 and thought it was only good for 500hp and i was going to need to get another one.

While we are on the subject of fuel pumps...

When you turn the ignition on the fuel pump whurrs into life for a few seconds and then stops...what makes it stop, is it a signal from the ecu?

I am getting to the stage where i can wire in the megasquirt engine loom but i am slightly confused as to the wiring on the fuel pump....

Cheers

Andy

I've been told the standard pump is at its maximum at around 340bhp ,would the 044 be the best option or is there a something in between the two..

Could some one please tell me the fuel hose sizes for both sides of the pump so can order the correct adapters
cheers
