Does anyone know the offset required for a 9J rim .looking at the outrigger which comes down on an angle,it look close to the rear tyre on my 8J rim .It does not look like the wheel can not go much further inwards
cheers
Daz why dont you buy another set of wheels and silicon seal them to the originals that way you wil have 16j on the rears and 15j on the frontscheers

Ill ring image and hear if i can change et to 30, or else i might have to use a small spacer...cheers
Well i have put a tape measure in the front of the rear tyre and measured inwards to where ts hits the outrigger and there is only about 10mm`s of space each way, that is with a 8j rim with an offset of 35 ,the tyre is 245/40/17
If i went for a 9j with the 225/40/17 it could hit the outrigger.
If you go for ET 30 with a 9j rim it will push the tyre out 18mm which would be OK
The tyre specialist explained there is a masive difference in tyre width even if they are the same size .
Its all down to the brand you go for .

Isnt there a saying?
Measure 3 times.... something
I bet some cars chassis will allow for a little more also.
But as Peter said, 'adjustments' can be made.

255/50/16 Mickey Thompson street ETs.
Squeezed onto standard 16" rears.
I really need a pair of wider rims for them.

How far do they clear the top wishbone and the outrigger which comes down on an angle ,they must be real close to the corner of the tyre..could you have a look. cheers
