Hi Graeme4130

The car has no history with TVR only 29 delivery miles. Nothing has been recorded after 2000 and all servicing has been done (allegedly)by the dealer who is a friend of the owner. You may think it genuine but I checked out past MOT's and the mileage didn't add up which made me believe that the reported 18000 miles was not geniune. On top of this the chassis looked like it had been spraypainted with a grey paint.

I had convinced myself that it was ok to buy but my head finally won over my heart (plus listening to some of the guys on here) I made my excuses and pulled out of the deal (£300 lighter for the trouble).

I hope this info is useful

Interior is often a good indicator of mileage - especially seats and drivers footwell carpet. At 18000 it should look pretty new. Mine did when I got it at 17000. Whereas now at 54000, the seats have the usually leather creases.

Hi taylormj4,

Your right... the interior was a bit tired and the veneer was showing its age.
I am glad I pulled out, but lets hope no one else gets sucked in to Mr Badgers sticky mitts!!!

It looks as though someone has attempted to mask off the chassis and then spray paint it, presumably in an attempt to hide corrosion.
Presumably Mr Badger could provide copy invoices to support all of the work he says he has done on the car? Or is he a 'strictly cash' sort of chap?
If the car was misrepresented to you in any way then I think that he has to return your deposit.
If the advertised mileage is not in fact correct then you should take the matter up with your local Trading Standards Department.
Thanks for the heads up for all other potential purchasers.
