I'm in the forces and having been the proud owner of a 97 Chim for only 6 months I'm being posted to the US for 13 months later in the year. I'm renting my house out and therefore can't use my own garage, and my girlfriend, friends and family either don't have garages or use them for their own stuff. I've thought about selling it, saving the money and buying another when I get back but it took ages to find this one and whilst it's not perfect I know what's wrong and what needs doing. Plus I'm simply quite attached to it already, despite the money I've had to spend on it recently [goes to dark place momentarily].

The question I have is that I've seen companies that will store the car for £90-£100 or so a month, and will start it, move it and generally function all the main bits every couple of weeks to stop it dying with over a year of no use. Has anyone every used one of these companies, and if so would you again and is there any that you would recommend? It's that or sell the Chim, unless anyone has any other options?

Thanks for any help or advice, as ever it's very gratefully received!

I'm working in Japan but couldn't bear to sell the Griff so I'm using these guys:

www.classiccarstorage.co.uk

Easy to deal with. I haven't been back to the UK since the car was in storage but I'm sure it's being well looked after. They offer 4 different levels of service too.
