For all those who want to know what it's like to own one of these cars from day one - I've bought a car and started a blog. No frills, just honest appraisal of the experience from start to finish. Have a look - first post up today having picked up the car two weeks ago. Second post due by the end of the week as I've already noticed some 'issues'....

Check it out here: http://chimaeradiaries.blogspot.com

Just read it Mossyboy, fascinating and very well written. We'll be following with interest as we're very similar to yourself and only a few months ahead in the experience. Ours is away having new almost-everything but I'll post some pics when she returns home.

Thanks guys - nice to have some initial positive feedback. Second post is up - Undriven and Unseen, the stupid approach I took to buying the car and why I did it.

Nice one Ewan - does the stereo actually work? Mine's perfect on a CD but has not radio reception at all. Common issue apparently.

My radio reception is very good and am liking this unit I got much neater solution to the usual wires everywhere when you plug an iPod into the head unit

Totally. It's a beautiful paint job. Hard bit it is keeping it looking that way! The guy knows his stuff so I think the car's going to stand up well during my ownership. Hard to drive it. Can't stop looking at it.
