Spare wires

I'm on a big project ,upgrading some wiring for the fuel pump just above the petrol tank..I have found two spare wires and the loom cut in to ,after investigation the damaged wires are a live and earth to the fuel pump .. it looks a bit bodged

I have only two small metal relays close to the battery one is marked fuel pump and not sure about

Why r u doing an upgrade to the wiring ? Mines fine even on the Bosch 044 pump

Because i have been told the wiring may not give 12volts and its not a big job..

Im womdering what those two wires are for..hope its nothing to do with the alarm or something.
