I went for a spin in the Chim tonight and the instrumrnt lights i.e. the dials did not illuminate, however the green backlights around the light switch and ventilation switch and the vent control lights are all working.

I assume they must be on a separate fuse and that it is unlikely that all my dial lights have not blown?

Any ideas guys where to start on this one?

Not to worry. I replaced the stereo in mine a couple of weeks ago and while doing so blew the fuse without realising the same fuse controlled the door solenoids. I closed the door while I went off in search of a replacement!

Lol thanks guys that makes me feel a lot better, what is the purpose of that switch when the main light switch turns them on and off?

Presumably to turn off the instrument lights when using the side lights as parking lights? It's the only reasonable explanation I can come up with.

It's supposedly so that you can turn off the instrument lights at night so they don't disturb you when you're trying to concentrate on the road ahead...

...and no - that's not a valid excuse to give the nice man in a uniform when he stops you and asks why you were doing 46 in a 30. biggrin
