I now have a Chim 500, I took it to fill up and it was a nightmare getting fuel in, the Tuscan never makes a fuss when filling up.

Also there is a lot of shunting, I've got a genuine Land Rover cap and rotor left over from when I had my Griff so will try those, at 70-80 every now and then it slightly misfires.

I also have a Chim 500 & it fills almost as fast as the pumps will supply it.(drinks it as quickly)
Are you getting the pump nozzle right in? there is a technique to it, put the nozzle in parallel to the boot edge coming from the back & it should go well down the filler tube.

The shunting is any of a number of problems, air lock or blockage in the fuel system, failing HT lead, Immobiliser failing, plugs, distributer cap etc

Hope you find the problem.

The shunting May not even be a problem... What cam? Has it just started doing it? Anything else been changed?

Single plenum on a v8 is asking for this even on milder set ups than many run...

Its got a uprated cam, but not sure what one it has, only got the car last week, but at a constant 2500 - 3000 rpm there is a occasional hiccup which doesn't feel right.

Will try to get the hang of the filling, no doubt will get plenty of practice.

On most pumps, I just have to be patient and only squeeze the trigger part way.

Hi Paul - I also have had to develop a knack for putting petrol in the Chimaera - it will spit out - it ssems to need air at the same time, so I angle the nozzle a bit and don't squeeze the trigger fully - it I do, it clicks 'off'. Is that close to making sense? I fear not wink
