hi all, need to upgrade the brakes on my 94 430, the standard ones really arnt up to the job! was thinking drilled/grooved discs, red stuff pads? and braided hoses, will this be enough? does anyone have any preffered make of disc/pads? thanks
I changed the fronts to the 887 888`s but fitted the vented 278mm with a small spacer.Rear, got rid of the 253mm solid discs, upgraded to later TVR spec vented discs sieara 4x4 , managed to get the calipers from fleabay new, you have to swop the hubs ,got them from a cossy breakers for 30..
I have a nice balance 278mm vented on the front and 273mm vented at the rear. With yellow stuff pads..

Just for info, on the tuscan rears i recently changed from yellow stuff pads to Ferrodo DS 2500 after not being too impressed with the EBC offering. Depends how you drive but i found i didnt get the heat into the pads often enough with general driving and therefore when i needed them they were lacking a little.
I know the DS 2500's are well reputed when fitted to the Chim too, i found a number of threads on this when looking into it.

I changed the 260mm front discs for some good quality cross drilled Tarox discs & fitted the red stuff pads with braided hoses as a test bed prior to fitting bigger calipers & discs.
I have found they work very well on road with occassional track days. Remember larger callipers and discs increase unsprung weight, and although the disc size seems modest in comparison today, they are very light cars.
If i did lots of hard track days i would upgrade, however, for mixed fast road use & few tracks with cooling off they can be made effective as standard if all these mods are completed together.
Also remember a track set up on road isn't ideal either.
