Been out for a run, got home parked the car on the slope outside the garage facing upwards - it is quite a slope @ 30 degress. Went back to the car after 15 minutes to bring it in, and nothing, pump whirrs but no ignition lights !
Picked it up yesterday so still going through my baptism of fire
Is there anything in the alarm system which would make this happen

any ideas, thoughts or commiserations welcome

Not something I've ever heard of, but perhaps something to do with the alarm type?

I seem to recall that older car alarms would go off if the nose was lifted. Not sure if TVR ever fitted such a thing though.

Sounds like the immobiliser.
Try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes. When you reconnect, immediately press the alarm fob.
This should reset everything
Good luck

Ok, got the car in the garage on the flat, I can turn the imobilliser off with the small key, but the alarm lamp continues to flash in the dash. I cannnot get any time now until next weekend, and that was due to be my first TVR club run what a p+++++r !
