Went to the TVR Cotsworld event on Easter Saturday......lots of Chims present - well done guys. Had a chance to put the old bird on the rolling road, when the wife refused, put the car on instead, now I am quietly impressed, my un modified, N reg, entry model 4 litre Chim did a respectable 248 horses ;-)

Did anyone else have a go?

Steve

I saw that, was extremely good for a standard car
Did have the intention of bringing my 4:0hc along to try it for power too, but mrs scuppered those plans as had to pick some stuff up for her in Bristol afterwards, so had my Audi with me instead and rolling road was only good for 2WD

That's really remarkable! Are you quite sure it's standard?

Yes very normal, as much as a TVR can be, I have updated a few bits, but nothing to boost horses beyond the factory settings, replaced the ignition components due to an intermittent fault, fitted 10mm rather than 8mm leads cause they look better, new stepper cause the old one just broke up in my hands, new act breather hoses and other "blue bits" etc, about 5000 miles ago a new standard Cam was fitted, thus it is now running on 8 rather than 7 cylinders. The car is regularly serviced, and runs on optimax, plans are a foot to overall the suspension and cooling hoses later this year (have the stuff under the bed weighing down the ceiling, just need time to fit) but nothing really focusing on extra horses.

Its just a 4litre ;-) no HC in sight ;-) and done 80,000 miles so the front is no longer british racing green, but stone chip white!
