Should used diff oil be this black?
Discussion
When I bought my Chim a few weeks ago it had full service history, but for piece of mind whenever I get a new car I change the engine, gearbox and axle oils as soon as I get it.
I changed my diff oil at the weekend and what came out was some very thick black oil (see pic):

Is this the normal state of diff oil after it's done 12000miles, or could it be a sign that although it had FSH the garage might have skipped this oil change and the oil may not have been changed for a long time?
It's now got some nice fresh Millers CRX LS 75w140 (as recommended by many on here).
