Manifold paint?

I was thinking of tidying up my exhaust manifolds. I don't think they have ever been off the car and all the nuts are seized solid, so on the basis of 'leave well alone' (and I'd hate to break a stud) I'm going to need to do this on the car. Masking it all up is going to be a pain, but it should improve the look of things under the bonnet.

I'd be glad of advice from anyone that might have done this e.g.

What paint did you use?
What colour?
Did it last OK?
Did you use rust remover or any other prep. first?
