Accumate Question

Sorry dumb newbie question having picked up my 93 Chim today - any help gratefully receieve!

I bought an Accumate conditioner with the cigarette lighter adapter.

Plugged it in to the car with the ignition off - I only get the red "power on" LED on the Accumate which appears that it is not doing anything. It appears to charge normally with the ignition on.

If I turn the ignition on the amber LED lights and appears to be charging. If I then turn the ignition off, the green LED flashes, but it also seems to cause the warning lights above the headlights switches to flash and the immobliser LED to flash amber.

I tested the cigarette lighter itself, and it doesnt work when the ignition is off - is this normal?

What am I doing wrong?

If its any help mine is live constantly and not affected by the ign switch pos they also appear to be un-fused too.

I think I answered my own question there didnt I - no live socket = no cigarette charging option which is a pain in the backside as the passenger side of the car is tight against the garage wall.

I've attached it direct to the battery for now but I dont fancy diving headfirst accross the car into the passenger footwell everytime it needs connecting, looks like I will be installing the accumate on a more permenant basis.

Yes that does help thanks! My car is obviously "special"!
