First of all apologies for not knowing the correct term for the hard bit of the roof (roof panel maybe?)

I've had my Chimaera for a week and a bit now and am loving every second of it but one thing that lets it down is a bit of a tatty roof. It has a few deep scratches and the cloth is coming off near where it slots into the collapsable bit of the roof (technical I know...)

I've searched the forums for details on where to get one of these panels and haven't had much luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction and give me an indication of cost? I've found some instructions on recovering the roof but to be honest I'm not a very practical person :-)

Thanks in advance for your help, these forums have already proved invaluable.

Fernies may be able to help, there link is in the advertisers on the front page.

I know that Leven technology is developing a two piece jobbie, not sure when it's due for release though.

Thought about getting your existing one recovered?

Don't Renovo re-cover the targa panel?

If the roof doesn't leak, get it recovered. A new panel may well not fit correctly and cause more trouble than it's solved....

Good idea about getting it recovered, especially as it doesn't leak.

I'll try and find somewhere local that can do it for me.

Thanks for your help.

The latest I heard was the Leven one will be available around October (still testing and tweaking). I'll ask Simon at the Growl over the weekend. This is the prototype.

Changing the subject just a little, but what is the purpose of the 2 piece roof? Looks a dogs dinner with one piece out IMHO.

...who bought a real sports car with out a huge over hanging rump end that looks like Les Dawson gurning.

Someone needs to buy the 2 piece roof ASAP and then tell me if its any good. So many times I have wanted to snap mine over my knees and sling it in the boot.

BTW, carefull FFG, you are about to run over an All Black! (Has he been at the Westons again?)

There is only one piece at present as it is in development but yes it is aimed more for Griffs as it is not easy to get a one piece roof in/out a Griff - I know it is in a Chim - I had one.

Apologies for getting Mr Maggit and Mrs FFG in there.
Yes, I think he'd been at the Westons.

Why doesnt someone develop a proper convertible roof to replace original. Would make touring a lot easier and car more useable.
