Further to my post ‘Steve says 3 or can it be 4’

Help, is there a special to tool or long reach spanner to undo the 4th nut holding the door liner in. Cider Andy’s picture has helped but no matter what I try it’s unreachable.

My arms are longer and thinner that most, but this seems physically impossible.

If you have managed it, is there knack to this, does one have to use the same head in the foot well position as the dash top removal ……how on earth did the guys at TVR do it when the door was assembled?

Done mine today, sat on the ground back towards the front of the car. Then wiggle your arm in all the way, I found my arm went in easy up to the elbow, then spent 5 mins getting the elbow in, and then the rest of the arm went in easy. undid and removed far nut and washer. I did at one point wonder if I would get my arm back out again, but a bit or wriggling and I got it out.

Thank you all for your responses, looked at my arm yesterday morning and could not believe the cuts and bruising above and below my left elbow, as recommended by Pink Floyd the big leap forward is overcoming the fear of getting your elbow trapped.

Once I had taken the plunge, elbow squeezed through the speaker mount and touching the inside of the door the 4th nut can be readily worked on.

I am convinced James Herriot must have been the guy on contract to the TVR door assembly department.

As with most of the perceived to be ‘quickie’ TVR jobs, just to check what’s going on in my door, it turns into a marathon. With the trim off I shall now make it worthwhile, I have washed all the visible interior trim, lubricated the winder mechanism, made sure the door is draining and have ordered a set of window glass guide rubbers from Mr CT.

The parcel arrived AM as promised all complete, so will complete the door over this coming weekend.

Thanks again for all your responses.
