Been thinking of replacing the wiper blades/arms and have trawled around PH for advice. The Leven arms and blades seem favourite. A Cerbera thread entitled 'Rubbish Wipers' from August 2010 contained a link to an ebay item which was well recived at the time but of course, the link no longer works today. As the search facility is still down on PH (and therefore at the risk of covering old ground) does anyone have advice or experience on the best arms/blades/washers to fit on a 98 Chimaera please? Any links and/or prices greatly appreciated.

I fitted Storm wipers to mine with the integral washer jet. They're OK and an improvement on the standard system which blocked all the time on mine. Wouldn't say they were excellent but at considerably less than Leven, they do OK.

Hi,
Go for the Leven ones, a little more expensive buy well worth the money and easy to fit. They actually stay on the Windscreen!!

I recently changed my wiper blades for the Aeroblade style, I have kept the standard washers. Try these guys.
For the cost, at £5.54ea I have found them a great improvement over the standard. I got the 16" WB5-16 for the driver side and a smaller 14" WB5-14 for the passenger (to try and improve the sweep).

Are they easy to fit ? IE - do you need to adjust the wiper mechanisms or do the click straight in?

They click straight in, no adjustment required. This video shows the way it clips onto the existing wiper arm, should help explain. I've found them good so far, just have to see how they last though.

Thanks guys. I'm veering towards the Levens items to save false economy of cheapo no-goods.
In the words of the old TV advertisement; "You only fit them once, so fit the best, fit E......" Those old enough will recall this ad. wink

Brilliant - I went and bought these wipers, read the instructions, watched the video, then went to put them on the car and it already has them. What a dick!

I found the aeroblade style jobs to be ok but they don`t follow the contour of the glass over the left and right side curvature,so i sent them back .

What size aeroblades did you go for

Im currently useing the storm force type, they follow the contour of the glass but don`t seem to collect all the water ,leaving a type of smear

Went fo 16s on driver's side and 14s on passenger side which removes the proble of the latter not hugging the glass (a bit). Advice from our man who posted above gave me that idea!

I went for the Storm one as I could afford to fit 3 sets before I hit the cost of the Leven ones and didn't think that they could be that good. The blades will wear on them the same as any others with time.
