Early(93) Chimaera battery type anyone
Discussion
Sorry Guys, search seems to be down again. After 9 years my car has let me down for the first time yesterday, battery has given up the ghost!! Google implies a 069/072 for later models but may not be the case for earlier models. Is there a definitive size for a 93/L or is it advisable to remove/measure before buying?
I'm sure my car heard me getting approval from my better half to upgrade to a Tuscan and has now got the hump!!

hi, when i asked the same question about a month ago i was told the one to go for in the earlier car is an 075, it fits but is a little tight at the bottom because of the plastic lip round the bottom of the battery for clamping down on. maybe have a look through the search function(if its working)
Measure the battery box and get one that fits and with the highest CCA figure. Should be an 072 as standard.
Last one I bought for the Griff was one of these:

5 year wearranty and very high cold cranking capacity.

Mystery over, removed old battery by torchlight last night!!
About 10 min job on early Chimaera to remove, as its smaller(075 type)and front panel of battery box removes with 2 bolts allowing battery to pull forward out of box.
Found a local store with high enough spec battery ( 610 CCA) for £57, so should be back on the road by tonight, not that I can drive the car for more than 20 minutes at a time due to a back injury I've been carrying for almost a year now.....just hate the idea that the car can't be used if I wanted to!!
Thanks for your replies
